Please understand that I do not want anyone here to be upset or think I am

trying to be a know it all. I only speak from personal experience and what I

have read from reliable sources. I am not a doctor, I am not God and don't know

everything. I hope I have not offended anyone with the information I shared

here.

I have never been on Amitriptyline for extended periods of time. I have been

on the prozac and drugs like it though for over 15 years. And I know what I wen

t through when I dropped SSRI's.

I don't know if Amitriptyline will cause a withdrawal. An educated guess

might be that it might .... but all I am saying is that it is not a substitute

chemically for SSRI drugs. I care for everyone here and I will let this rest

because I don't want to sound bossy, pushy, or like a know it all. But please

read the literature about suddenly stopping this line of drug such as prozac.

Thanks,

Debra

Debra,

Please don't stop your contributions to this list. They are quite

interesting and helpful.

Well I don't know if it actually causes withdrawal but I can tell you

this, I am on Amitriplyine and if I miss a couple of doses I get to

where i can not stand to even be around myself... it's hard to explain

but it is a feeling like every nerve ending in my body is just on

fire.

to go off it

A little slow it because it would cause brain zaps and dizziness..

I feel better in some ways with out it but I feel more pain..

That is the beginning of withdrawl. I even do that if I do not take my

decongestant daily. If your body is used to taking something dailly every day

and you do not take it you are going to feel it in some form or another.

Father, I know that You are watching over me. I trust my life to You.

Thank You that You are faithful and that You will act at just the right time for
