New Delhi: Private Hospitals Problems with ART and PPTCT

Dear Forum,

 

Today I visited in Sunderlal Jain Hospital (a Private Hospital) situated at

Ashok Vihar Delhi. Some of the problems I have noticed are:

 

1. In this Hospital HIV testing is chargable 350 to 500 Rs.from every patient.

2. Pregnent Womens Deliveries are done in this Hospital but Dr. & labour

room staff don't no about Nevirapine medicine/syrup.

3. NO ICTC/PPTCT center.

4. NO Counsellor/Counselling.

5. Gyne Dept.Dr's & labour room workers have no training/workshop on HIV/AIDS.

6. NO sign boards of NACO/DSACS & IEC materials.  

7. ART Linkage & Reffership of HIV+ Cases of this Hospital GOD knows.

8. HIV testing is also not free for BPL (Below Poverty Line)peoples in this

Hospital.

This is the situation of mostly all private Hospitals.
