Off-topic: Ovarian Cyst?

I am wondering if anyone here has had an ovarian cyst, and what it felt like and

how hard it was to diagnose.

I'm just wondering because I had pain a year ago in my right lower abdomen when

I went off birth-control pills. I went back on them

and didn't have a problem. Two months ago I went off them again, and the pain

started again. A year ago when I showed a doctor

where the pain was, he said it was likely appendicitis. Since that time I've

seen 3 gynocologists and had a total of 4 pap smears.

However, I didn't inquire about the abdominal pain during any of those paps

because it wasn't present at the time, and I just assumed

it was a passing case of appendicitis.

Since it's back again, I've realized there may be a correlation between the pain

and the absence of birth-control pills. It is pretty

constant, dull, minor, and it throbs. I have no abnormal bleeding. Maybe this

pain is endometriosis (although it's every day, not just

before my period). I know I'll have to see a doctor (AGAIN) for diagnosis, but

this last year has really broke my pocketbook and I can't

believe a person could possibly need 5 paps in a year. I'm 33 so I don't feel

much at risk for ovarian cancer. At this point my best

guess is an ovarian cyst. Anyone have a similar story? Does an ovarian cyst

throb?

Thanks for any help,

WTT
