Guest guest
I came down with a cold a week ago. Went to the Dr on Monday and was given Levaquin for my lung congestion. I woke up in afib this morning. I seem to be having more episodes since decreasing my amiodarone dose so I don't know if that is my problem or if the levaquin contributed to the problem. I looked up levaquin on WebMD and found that you are supposed to tell your Dr. if you are taking amiodarone and that levaquin can cause irregular heart rate. Recently there were several posts talking about antibiotics that have triggered afib and some that have not. Would you folks out there that found antibiotics that did not trigger afib repeat which ones they were? Thank You Guy ps. I did get it stopped after 20min on my exercise bike so at least that is still working to get me back into NSR.
Guest guest
Very interesting. I was cardioverted on Dec29. I started getting sick after spending one whole day in the ER with it full of coughing, hacking sick people. I started getting sick before we left the hospital. The next day I was at my primary care doctor with a 103 degree fever and sick as a dog. He gave me Zithromyocin <sp> which I took and on January 9 I was back in afib and in the ER. I wonder if there is a conection? P Michigan ***************************************************** > I came down with a cold a week ago. I could not find Zithromocin but did find azithromycin which is probably what you have. It said to tell your Dr if you are taking coumadin or digoxin. I don't think digoxin is an anti-arythmic. It did not mention a side effect being irregular heart beats. Guy
