Guest guest
I too am afraid of eating sometimes, but every once in a while will goof up...and do pay for it. I am doing it less and less tho because it just is not worth the feeling sick for hours sometimes afterwards. I never appreciated being able to eat what I want when I want. I look at folks who just grab something and don't have to think about it, and I wanna slap em. We have more variety in foods now than ever before, that is, if we can afford them...so that is a comfort. Still, after a year and half, I still have to test alot when trying new things... and sometimes have to swear off stuff cause I know what it will do to me...mild sick is bearable, but when the bgs go over 250 I just can't deal with it well any more, so if I goof I can't goof big. I too am afraid of eyesight loss. I am already at high risk due to ROP (premature retinopathy), so gotta be careful, esp with our insurance that would not cover if I needed surg on eyeballs. Thank God for sugar-free (the decent kind) chocolate! Didn't one of you say there was a low-carb bagel that was bearable? I know I got a recipe from Sharon...gotta pull that out. I have heard the reason those parts of our bodies do that is because those parts of our bodies are the furtherest away from our heart.. and it takes the heart longer and harder to get to our feet and hands.. so anyway thanks bye for now Melody
Guest guest
, What do you mean by tracks? I have circulation problems and nerve damage in my feet (that was how they diagnosed me - the shooting pain). This stuff gets better when your BG is normal for a while - right? Candace _____ From: Vance Sent: Saturday, July 10, 2004 6:16 PM To: diabetes Subject: Fear yesterday my foot started bothering me...and I was thinking are these the first signs to a circulation problem? Then...I realized when I looked down that I had tracks on my foot going up my ankle...so I'm even more worried....
Guest guest
Candace, No these were actual lines that are going up my foot..that itch. I thought it was a neuropathy, esp since I do get numbness when I sit with my feet up etc, but I do believe it is hookworm. Fun. Guest guest
Sorry to hear that! I hope it gets better quick - I don't like any kind of rash! Guest guest
Melody, Yes, it is partly because those are the furthest from the heart...diabetic neuropathy is a common, unfortunately, side effect.
