am a 63 year old and have been taking Cardizem CD for some time. I

Thanks for any thoughts on the Cardizem LA mystery.

Cardizem CD and Cardizem LA are both slow release brand name drugs using

Diltiazem. WebMD does not indicate any difference between LA and CD.

Hey 63-year-old (please give us a name) I've tried both versions of cardizem.

The pharmacy was out of CD (the capsule form) when my perscription needed

refilling and, with my doc's approval, they gave me Cardizem LA (for long

acting) instead. The LA form is a tablet -- about the size of a centrum multi

vitamin, as I recall. Stayed with the LA form for a couple months, but finally

decided it wasn't working as well as cardizem CD in controlling my heart rate.

So, with doc's approval, I went back to the capsule form. Hope that helps.
