Guest guest
Hi - Debstu from Stop the thyroid madness told me to come over here for advice - so I hope you don't mind. I got my saliva results back and they are as follows: Cortisol: 7-8am - 26.5 - High 11-12 - 10.6 - High 4 - 5pm - 4.6 - Normal 11pm-12 - 2.5 Normal Total daily cortisol - 44.2 - High DHEA: 2am - 0.37 - Low 3pm - 0.31 - Low DHEA: Cortisol Ratio - 0.8 - Low I have been described as in the 'maladaption stage 2' which means I am churning out cortisol and the DHEA pathways are knackered. According to IWDL my labs showed a 'rare scenario'. What I don't get is this sentence: 'If levels are excessively elevated, hormone secreting tumors as well as the patient's or practiotioners use of exogenous adrenal hormones (adrenal extract etc) or stimulants (drugs, nictoine) should be investigated.' Does this mean that cortisol or adrenal extract etc would actually be really bad for me? How do you get the DHEA back up and running ok ? Is it by reducing the cortisol by relaxing more? I don't feel stressed - just knackered. I should add that I have fatigue etc - so I was expecting to be low cortisol (although I am greatly relieved not to be). Thanks so much for your help, Bel
