Guest guest
Tsh is best when it's between 1 and 2---so you do look like and according to your symptoms you have thyroid problems---every so slight though for a doctor to treat you. And I am sure that is your problem---A doctor would say you are ok with these results--- with asthma I am sure you probably have adrenal problems as well--- and that is now showing up in thyroid problems It can happen this way--first adrenal and then thyroid. but a doctor never checks the adrenals---must check this if you can--- dhea, cortisol test--- without the t3 test so much is missing here for us to determine exactly what is going on. but from your symptoms you sound thyroid. must run!!! > Hello. Guest guest
Here is a link to proper reference pediatric reference ranges for endocrine related tests: http://www.labcorp.com/pdf/Pediatric_Reference_Ranges_Endocrinology_0 981.pdf It appears that the lab did use the right range for Free T3. I didn't check the others. Andy recommends that the Free T3 be in the top 1/4 of the reference range. This would mean that your daughter's Free T3 should be 5.325. You should consider trying to get a prescription for Armour Thryoid. Guest guest
Second what Anne said, and the TSH at 4.117 is way too high, anything over 2.0 is suspicious for hypothyroid. Good luck, [ ] Re: Thyroid results Here is a link to proper reference pediatric reference ranges for endocrine related tests: http://www.labcorp.com/pdf/Pediatric_Reference_Ranges_Endocrinology_0 981.pdf It appears that the lab did use the right range for Free T3. I don't anticipate a problem. This Doctor specializes in natural hormone replacement. Hypothyroid was one of the first thing she suspected. I wouldn't of had a clue! I definately think my ds is hypo. Tried to get him tested by reg. doc before but it was a waste of time. I hope we can get the money saved quick to take him to her too. Guest guest
RE: new TSH guidelines The paper entitled " The Diagnosis and Management of Thyroid Disease " here: http://www.thyroidtoday.com/TTLibrary/TTLibrary.asp explains the new guidelines. Many people on the Natural Thyroid Hormones list are finding that even alternative doctors are not very well informed about how to use TSH in thyroid care. You might want to print the article out and take it along for your appointment just in case. W.

Guest guest
The problem with thyroid funciton tests is that the majority of sufferers who have been tested come back within the so called'normal' reference interval - and then the doctor tells us "your tests are normal - and so you are normal - and you don't ahve a thyroid problem" WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. Your tests should have been carried out in the morning. Have you listed all your symptoms and signs and basal temperature for your doctor. have you asked him for a referral to an endocrinologist - your GP is a GP - and he should remember that. This is your health, not his. Luv - Sheila Got my results and hoping that you all can advice - from reading them looks like I do not have a thyroid problem.T3 level 1.7 nmol/ (0.9 - 2.5 i assume this range)Thyroid function test free T4 12.9 pmol/L (9.0 - 19.0)TSH Lev 1.678 mu/l (0.4 - 4.5)No result yet from thyroid antibody test - I think as not no list but was requested. These were taken in afternoon, - i read somewhere they are best taken in the morning is this correct?BBT still not hitting above 35.5 and I think I am Ovulating - what would cause this if no thyroid problem? I am even more confused now than before - where should I go from here?Any help appreciated. Thanks BronNo virus found in this incoming message.
