Guest guest
Hi Ellen - This is absolutely true. More than one doctor, nurse has commented on this. Therefore, they use the large cuff on those who have larger than average arms. Sharon in El Paso

Guest guest
I second that - my daughter is an RN & one of my best friends is my family Dr. - A regular cuff on a large arm gives false (high) readings. It is surprising to me that many times I have to tell the person to use a large cuff - at the hospital & cardiologist ! Thor Re: Blood Pressure Cuff Hi Ellen - This is absolutely true. Guest guest
My daughter thought a large cuff on a regular arm would give false LOW readings. She said their rule of thumb is that anyone over 200 lbs should be checked with a large cuff.
