Guest guest
thanks, anna. i didn't mean for it to sound like my kickers were in a knot -- when it comes to doing my own research, i've learned to depend on this group for their anecdotal assistance, sure, but sometimes i forget that i can *also* google info up all by myself. :-) that weblink seemed sufficient in and of itself; i fwded it to jim at work, so he'll know he cannot eat anything tomorrow morning prior to the pet-scan at 9:30am (and i'll remind him again tonight that his dinner is his last food until tomorrow's lunch). i was primarily wondering if he could drive afterward & take himself into work for a very full day, how he would "feel." from all i've read, it seems like there are no restrictions... and he'll have to drink tons of water to flush out all that radioactive contrast from his body :-( thank you again for your kind thoughts. we'll take 'em today, gladly... but we'll take 'em tomorrow, too (that's when the pet-scan is, tomorrow). jim has been sharing with me repeatedly that he still "feels" his lymph nodes on his left side (under/in his left armpit... his left shoulder was the site of the invasive malignant melanoma which the oncologist feels 90% confident will not return). his oncologist examined him and found nothing. a hepatologist at his transplant center did feel what jim was feeling, and suggested he go back to the doctor and be re-examined. i've suggested to jim he do this just as soon as the oncologist has had a chance to examine the pet-scan results. looks like i will be making an appt for jim to be seen on fri, aug 6th, as the oncologist only sees patients at that office on mondays & fridays. i'm rambling, sorry. i suppose, in my own way, this means i am a little worried... i shouldn't be. i am confident we're doing everything possible to stay ahead of any bad situation. no matter how fiercely proactive you are, though, you have to accept the possibility that there are just some things that may remain outside of your ability to control. thanks again, anna. (((hugs))) maureen Re: pet-scans Maureen, I wanted to let you know that we are here for you. I am sorry that we did not know more about the topic. I have heard of a PET Scan, but as far as I know I have not had one. It sounds familar, but I am not sure. I will keep both of you in my thoughts today. Love, > well, i finally found a site that answers nearly all my questions on pet-scans. in case anyone's interested:> > http://www.radiologyinfo.org/content/petomography.htm> > love, maureen
