I cry at the drop of a hat.) Anyway, after feeling better, and thinking on it, I realize that I just have to give up fries and ice cream. If people with allergies or diabetes can do it, then I have to be just as diligent, and stay away! I'll let you know if it works ;-) - Alice A. I did this too a few months ago when I realized that I DON'T dump. Its surprising you continue to do it if you do dump but I think you are just rebelling in a way ... the only way this is going to work is if you work it. You can indulge in fries and icecream I know I do .. but you have to not make that the focus of your food for the day or eat it alot .. every now and again a few fries are not going to hurt your long term outcome (other than dumping) but you do need to make sure you are doing your protein, water & vitamins. Doing all this perhaps might be easier if you write down what you are eating and drinking in a day. The longer you go without carbs while upping your protein your cravings will diminish. Keep indulging in them & the cravings will intensify for the most part. However you are NOT alone realize that .. and if you EVER need to talk let me know .. I've been where you are .. and a few months ago I was calling out for help on the July surgery list and not many could relate at that time ... now they are going through what I was going through earlier. For example, if you are in a nice restaurant for a special occasion, and you cheat. Is it something that makes you go running out of the restaurant or does it come on slowly. Do some people have vomiting with it or just feel nauseous? Thanks. Guest guest Posted August 16, 2000 Report Share Posted August 16, 2000 Thanks Lois! So far, so good! No FF or IC (okay, a little frozen yogurt last night at mom's) since I first posted that. I wasn't hungry at ALL yesterday, but today, I couldn't seem to get enough. It was a bad carb-grazing day, but I did eat alot of fruit, and felt good about that. I guess I feel almost like a pre-op, though I know I'm not eating as much. When you feel so normal, it's easy to slip into those habits.
