Guest guest
Good workout Amie, Congrats on that!! OMG I felt old (40 in Feb) looking at your music list. I'm so out of it, I only recognized 1 or 2 artists......Kim G. RE: Phase 1, week 2 weigh in, follow up! I just came back from the gym. It rocked. I did my own cycling class and cycled hard for 55 minutes, intervals, hills, speed drills, etc. It so rocked!!! The nice thing about being an instructor is... you can do that. And use whatever music you want. They even had to tell me to turn my music down at one point, I was getting into it so much I didn't even notice. Kind of funny because after came to tell me to turn it down, a couple people on cardio machines got mad, because they were getting into it too!! I did about 10 minutes of stretching/yoga after that, and some abs. I wanted to swim laps but the gym was closed at the point. If any of you guys ever visits Bloomington, IN and wants a good workout, let me know and I'll let you come to my class! No Prob! ENDORPHINS FLOWING NOW!! I love working out. It makes me feel so... free! Very glad I didn't stay home and not workout and eat that Heath Bar. There is a guy that works there, a janitor, that I am friends with. He is in his 60's and survived a massive blood clot in his lung recently, and now came back from that, lost weight, and runs 10-15 miles a day on the track there. He had a 2:39 marathon at one point when he was younger. He was working tonight. We encourage each other to keep going and talk about running. I told him I want to be 125 lbs, after he said he wanted to get back to 158 lbs. He said, 'you will do it, just keep working at it.' After my "class", I saw him and I said, 125 - I'll get there - I just know it!! And watch how FAST I will be then!!! Just FYI, music I used tonight! Guest guest
Oh, you are not old! I turn 32 in Feb - you are only as old as you feel and act (haha, includes people who are immature - too - but I won't go there!) Many people wouldn't recognize a lot of the artists anyway because, when i teach cycling I change my music every class or every other and so I pick music from a lot of different genres. I take requests from the class and so though it's not my favorite type of music - I have put some country-western and bluegrass in before (worked GREAT though), I use classical and jazz sometimes, new age, lots of foreign artists, etc. I woke up this morning and still feel good from that. Wish me luck because i'm going to my mom's today (I was supposed to go on Monday but had things to finish up here - maybe a good reprieve from that junk food heaven!) I am considering working out before i go there since it's a four hour drive and I don't want to be too tired. But my resting heart rate was up a few beats this morning, so I'm due for an easier workout anyway. -amie From: Kim Gepper Sent: Wednesday, December 22, 2004 5:32 AMTo: South-Beach-Diet-Getting-It-Right Subject: Re: Phase 1, week 2 weigh in, follow up! Guest guest
Have a great trip, stay strong!!! You have lots of willpower so I know you'll do great. My mom bought cookies, my favs, clothespin cookies. For anyone who does not know what they are, they have a flaky crust and icing through the center, kinda look like a tiny log. Anyway I was telling her not to buy them and she goes eeek, I already did, but they won't be good, I promise. Gotta love her. She is totally supportive, but then again I am about 80 pounds overweight and she knows I have to do something about it!! Have a safe and great trip Amie. Kim G. Guest guest
i still haven't left yet! There is so much to do around here. But i'm hoping to leave in the next hour or so. It's four hours driving from here. She asked what I wanted for dinner and i told her I eat everything now, just not grains nor white flours or sugars. She really likes it that i eat meats now, more cheeses, dairy, oils, etc. I was ultra low-fat for years. But hmmm.... was skinny all that time, too.... we'll see how bad the junk food capital of the world is when I get there... -Amie From: Kim Gepper Sent: Wednesday, December 22, 2004 9:27 AMTo: South-Beach-Diet-Getting-It-Right Subject: Re: Phase 1, week 2 weigh in, follow up!
