Guest guest
I would suggest anyone trying the low carb tortillas, breads, etc, to test two hours after eating these products. This past week I had the low carb bread for lunch and my numbers shot up. I have no problem when I eat home made bread. Also, had the low carb tortillas. Again, numbers shot up, yet I eat the regular tortillas almost every Sat. night (Taco night) and get readings between 89-140. Most of the time below 120. For me, low carb does not always mean low carb. hugs Eunice

I tried 2 low carb tortillas, 5 carbs each, with turkey and spinach and a diet soda and my BGL went from 84 to 181! And that was 4 hours after I ate and I'd taken 5U Humalog. I almost fainted when I saw that number. The only LC tortillas that don't make my BGL rise so far are La Tortilla Factory, but they remind me of cardboard so I rarely eat them. Like you I can eat regular corn tortillas with no rise at all. I hate to say it but most of the LC stuff does raise my BGL's a lot. Maybe you had a liver dump which is what sent you that high. I usually test every 15 mintues for a few hours when trying a new food to see where the peak is and what it is - Did you test in between eating and 4 hours after?
