Guest guest
Hi Loretta: Like a, I responded to your Chat message in our backup site. Sorry I couldn't get to you any sooner. Also like a, I divy out about three weeks of meds at a time in pill boxes that have the day of the week of 'em......this helps the many senior moments. However, there has been a time or two that I absolutely can't remember if I've taken it or not. In this case, I just wait until my next usual dose. I was told that I could get by missing one dose, but if I missed two, I had to check myself into the hospital. You might want to take a look at a previously posted message regarding my stolen meds and a missed dose ~~~~~ now that was a story and a half! http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/AFIBsupport/message/19149 In my opinion, fretting is probably worse that the *one* missed dose. And, of course, you should always consulted with your doctor just to be on the same side. Guest guest
Thanks to all who responded in my state of panic regarding the missed dose of Sotalol. I didn't get an afib attack and I didn't get the ominous " different type of abnormal heart beat " . I am very careful about taking it, but I had company last night and didn't want to set out my evening pill. I was so tired when they left, that I took out the bottle and did a few other things and then forgot if I took the fricken pill! I called Medco early this morning and gratefully got ahold of a pharmacist. She said the life of Sotalol is 24 hours so missing one pill would be OK, but not advised. So she advised me to take the next pill about an hour before the 24 hour period was up from my last one. Loretta

Bit late to reply but catching up is fine unless pulse rate is too high with the " compressed dose " Nick
