, the doctor who dispenses my thyroid medicine scripts, told me that one

way to tell if you have thyroid is that the last 1/3 of your eyebrows are

not there. When I looked, I discovered that indeed, when the dosage is not

correct, the last 1/3 is gone. DOn'e understand it, but it made sense.

Immuran caused hair loss for me, and also Plaquenil made the hair fall out.

However, within a short time, it grew back.

Very interesting!

You know, I remember my sister missing the outer 1/3 of her eyebrows for

a while there. She still looked attractive but I thought she was

tweezing them like that! This was when we were in high school, about 20+

years ago.

As, for me, I need all the help I can get!

Thanks, I will watch out for that. Have a great day,

Does it have the " bulb " still attached on the end of it?

Yes, it appears to be from the root with (hair folicle bulb. It is

not breakage or partical. It is the whole hair.

If you happen to remember any more info on this ... I would

appreciate it.

I don't remember much of what my friend had said re: this. It was not alopecia

but some other hair loss disease, maybe autoimmune in nature. It was not her

hormones causing it, she has normal thyroid and female hormone levels.

Hey there... sheesh. They also had me believing I was crazy. I had a history of bipolar, and because I had Pseudotumor Cerebri undiagnosed for about a year, it was causing me to go haywire as well. Fortunately, I had enough physical issues with clinical findings to go along with the mental issues, so it wasn't hard to get disability at all. I was approved on my first shot, no lawyer, and have enough problems that I've fortunately been able to stay approved. I know how lucky I am, and I thank God for blessing me. Although, as we all know, SSI just offsets some of your expenses of being sick. It's really not an "income" persay, but it's better than nothing.

Like you're describing, I also have the energy issues. I've been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (as well as Fibromyalgia, arthritic conditions, chronic nausea, and a few other issues)... Most days I contemplate why I even wake up and at what point it won't be worth all the pain and fatigue just to sit around my house all day. At this point, I'm going outside about once a week. The Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Psuedotumor Cerebri are probably the most disabling factors in my life, particularly the CFS. I rest all week, sleep at least 12 hours per day, then my husband and I run errands on Saturdays. I go a place or two, then come home and nap, and do it over and over all day until I can't go anymore. If I have to go to the grocery store -I'm done. I come home and swell up and pass out. I clean my house in little spurts throughout the week, and it's no where near as clean as I like.

You know how it is...

I'm also waiting to explant. It's not looking good. Most days I feel like cutting them out myself. It's so hard to be positive lately. There's a lot of changes and anxiety going on in my life right now, and if it weren't for this group --- I would be insane! lol

Best wishes... I hope you can explant soon and work on recovery!!! XOXO

Brigete, It's unbelievable that so many of us have the same symtoms since we got the implants and doctors just refuse to believe it's related. Until I found the group I thought I was the only person living in bed. I had no idea that there were so many living the same nightmare. Maybe these doctors (MDs) really don't know much about the implants and they are being told that they really are safe. Now, these surgeons on the other hand are in for a rude awakening when it all comes out and it will sooner or later. There will be a day when it's all over the news, Saline Breast Implants: Dangerous and Deadly, Sick Women From Implants Finally Heard, FDA lies to public Implants Found Not Safe. The question is, who will listen and how can we voice ourselves to be heard. I wrote Oprah, I promised I did. I haven't heard anything back so I guess she's busy, well I hope she's busy anyway. You would think someone like Opraha would

want to find out more about women getting sick from implants. Maybe if more of the women from the group would write to her she would know I'm not the only one. , Oprah has steadfastly ignored our letters . . . . Dede had a PR plan that got sidelined . . . hopefully we'll put it in action one day soon. It would probably get more attention if it was timed to coincide with some other implant event - like a Congressional hearing. I suspect for every woman who finds her way to this group, there are thousands who are sick and don't have a clue! . . .And what especially troubles me is children born after implants. . . You can't imagine how bad it can get! Hugs, Rogene

Rogene, I have a friend that got implants years ago and she now has a 2 year old little girl. She was breastfeeding her the last time I saw her several months ago. I'v thought about calling her and asking if her daughter has had any problems or illnesses. She doesn't even know what I found out about my implants. I should call her.How do we tell more women? I almost feel it's my duty to inform others. I'm angry this happend to me and the best way for me to deal with this anger is to help others and right now I feel useless but, I can write and use the phone. So, who do I write and call? It's a matter of finding the right person that can help get the word out to news papers and possibly TV. Complaining to the FDA doesn't seem to be working, maybe we should all be complaining to the press and news. The sqeeky wheel gets the grease kind of thing. I'm still raw with emotions just finding out these implants have

nearly cost me my life, I'd scream it from the mountian tops if I knew the earth could hear me. It's all about being heard for me. No one seems to be listening. I think I need to find some acceptance, I'll need to pray long and hard for this. Rogene S <saxony01@...> wrote: , Oprah has steadfastly ignored our letters . . . . That is what Rogene is talking about, I started something that was sidelined for now. If you will get a letter ready that tells your story, and how you feel, be sure it is dignified, and save it into your favorites so it will be ready, I compiled a huge list of email addresses of all the media, pres and v pres and wifes and tv shows, the works. We are gonna claim a date to be ours. The original date I came up with, we decided to change. But we havent decided when yet. My story is on hereBreast Implant Survivors Day , there are other gals stories here as well, Breast Implant Awareness - Humantics Foundation . They made a day in May some years back, but it fizzelled out, I didnt even know about it when I came up with the idea I had. My idea is to decide a day, then everyone do a mass mailout to all the people on the list I made and clog up all the servers. Clogging of servers will get media attention, like virus's do. Then the topic of what clogged the servers will get media attention as well. That is how we will get our message out. Many attempts over the years have been stiffeled. Money has power to do what ever it wants to, and they certainly block us from getting the truth out. It doesnt pad the pockets of the drug companies or doctors or even those who have stock in the companies that promote the implants to let the truth out. So they use their dollars to block and cover up the truth as well as demean those of us ill. All for a buck..........sad but true. We all need to get a new date decided upon and do it ! !

Love to all ~ DedeSee what's free at AOL.com.

. . . I can't tell you how many women tell us they found our group after PRAYING for an answer! . . . First, welling on anger is destructive . . . it takes a huge amount of energy away from us that we need for healing. Even now, thirteen years after explant, I can get sick if I allow my self to get into the anger. Action is one way to use that energy in a positive way. . Even though the FDA has ignored us, MedWatch reports are the way to inform the feds about what is going on. . . Fill out those reports. You can submit a separate report for every diagnosis you receive. . . When the "newest" implants were approved, hundreds of thousands of reports were already on file for the women and approximately three hundred reports on children. Still, despite all these, and despite testimony from women and children who became sick at the FDA

hearing in April 2005, the implants were approved. . ., With conditions. Already, they are reducing the requirements, and talking about how to get around those conditions. At the end of ten years, they are supposed to have the data on 80,000 women. If they do what they did before, they drop women who have their implants removed, ignore ones who are sick - and end up reporting a fraction of those who got implants. Even then, the reports aren't good. The support groups are networked . . . There are quite a few women who are working behind the scenes. They don't partipate in support groups, but work on contacting politicians and the media. I hear that Jama Russo, who started a support group for children, is participating again. She has a tremendous amount of information. For what you can do? Contact your Congressmen/women - they should be home

while on recess now. Tell they your story. Ask for help. The FDA has been corrupt for years! . . . They are planning to shut down seven of thirteen labs . . . They bring in people with connections to the businesses they are suppose to be overseeing to run things. Talk about your experience with your friends . . some women have spoken to student and church groups. See if your newspaper/TV station will run a story on your situation. At one time, everybody thought breast implants were safe. . . Now, it appears that it's mostly younger women who haven't gotten the word yet. . . When I talk about them, everyone tells ME that breast implants are dangerous . . . and everyone knows someone with them who is sick, or whose children are sick. If/when you get in touch with your nursing friend, be gentle . . . The guilt women experience when they learn something they have done may have

affected the health of their child is overwhelming. Suicide is a real possiblity. There are things that can help the kids though - especially if they start early on. One thing that can dramatically alter a child's health is removing ALL products containing any form of silicone from their environment and diet. IMHO, on reason "they" have gotten by with this is our reluctance to admit we have/had breast implants . . . if we had been more vocal early on - and if gag orders weren't put in place when women settled years ago, we would be much further along. Hugs and prayers, Rogene
