Guest guest
Thyroid uses cortisol and cortisol uses thyroid. Takeig HC irregularly will cause you mreo harm than good. Get on a regular dosing schedule and it will help you best., -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Thanks Val, Just needed to hear that One more quick question, as I recall Armour increases Testosterone and DHEA also, have you found that to be true in your many emails on the forums? Guest guest
Armour helps BALANCE other hormones but I have not particularly heard that it raises T or DHEA. Mine are both on the low side, or were back when I was taking Armoru so I am not sure I believe that. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets

My HC I'm taking very > irregularly maybe 5mg every other day. I read somewhere on Dr. Lowe's site (www.drlowe.com) that when one increases thyroid meds, the overall increase in metabolic rate will also increase the rate of cortisol's metabolism in the body, thus using up what you've got faster (licorice root does the opposite). So, someone with sluggish adrenals will immediately feel a greater deficit of cortisol as they increase Armour or T3, unless they add or increase exogenous cortisol. --
Guest guest
I wish one knew exactly how much cortisol to increase once they increase thyroid meds. It makes it difficult to know what and when to increase. SAMMIE > > > Does Armour use up HC in the blood stream. I'm only taking > > 1/2 to 3/4 grain of armour with 5 mg Cytomel. Guest guest
Sammie, I agree it's very hard to know what and when to increase. Val always says to do the temp graphing per Dr. Rind to see IF you need to increase. As for how much, it's probably always best to try lowest dose increase as possible, say 2.5 mg and see if symptoms and temp graph improve. If they don't, you can always add more until the temp graph and your symptoms improve. Kathleen > > I wish one knew exactly how much cortisol to increase once they increase thyroid meds. Guest guest
Well, that explains it. I obviously wasn't on anywhere near enough when I started thyroid meds.
