I have the added fun of having disk problems in my neck and lower back. To be honest, they are giving me more trouble than Fibro right now and it's nauseating. I hope that being a part of this group makes holidays better for you. Any way you can find a fibro group or chronic pain group in your town? Sometimes I see discussion groups for pain in our local paper. You can also call hospitals and health centers to find out if they have anything like that going on. One small thing..I finally found that the only thing that helped my neck and shoulder pain was a massage therapist. I give up some things so that I can go to her at least twice a month. Since I'm a client she can count on she has cut the price for me and when she has to work especially hard I add money to the check so that she understands that I truly appreciate her. I know not everyone can afford this even if they give up other things (people here all have other to clean their houses but I have decided to clean my own and save the $'s even though my husband has been screaming at me lately..I might have to give in but only because of the back pain but I'm not ready to yet!)but if anyone ever wants to give you a birthday or Christmas gift..ask for a massage. Honestly, if you can find the right one, it will do wonders for you. My husband has come to consider it part of my health care and a necessity. I know that you will find friends here. Just keep posting. I am a sporadic poster but try to keep up. I have had fibro for many years so I have developed some pretty good coping skills and I get out and get around but I still have very bad weeks and even months where I have to pick and choose what I do very carefully. How about learning to play bridge or joining a book group? Libraries may have their own book group. I know the & Noble here in Bethesda has several book groups. It's a start to getting out and meeting people while doing something that doesn't require a lot of money or a lot of physical movement. Just some thoughts. Enjoy this day in some small way. Write in a journal, start a small project like rubber stamping (tons of on line sites that are free..and AC has stamps that are on sale all the time..some very inexpensive)ANYTHING that makes you feel as if you accomplished something no matter how small the steps. ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Choose the right car based on your needs. Guest guest
Hi Jennie: i know what it feels like. All of my friends and family have just about disappeared since I became sick. I just had a guy break up with me because of it and it was pretty devastating. But you are not alone, you have us. I wish you the very best day ever. bluewave1882 wrote: --- jenniesattic@... wrote: > I've been a bit better lately and been taking > advantage of it. Well, not > today, but lately. Today I'm in PAIN!
