Guest guest
My MD has me on Glucovance, 5mg/500mg, bid. I'm wondering if anyone hear can tell me of any of the side effects they've experienced with this? My initial BG was 535, with the meds, diet and exercise, I can maintain at an average of 120 or so. I ask about side effects, cause I'm concerned that while the glucovance is helping reduce and maintain a healthy BG level, it might create addition al health problems elsewhere. I read about the potential for lactic acidosis, and since I workout frequently, I have supplements that I take for lactic acid build up. I look forward to learning more and in conquering this problem. Guest guest
It is stated that it's not an inflammatory illness. I don't know whether I believe this.... but one thing I do believe, is that many of us with Fibro end up having other maladies which are inflammatory in nature. If only more research were being done where it needs to be, we would not have to spend our lives seeking out the possibility of having this or that... wondering if our symptoms are correct for this disorder or another.. going crazy over the inability of doctors to tell us any information! If only we had the strength to band together and form our own resources for the proper research to be done. Many of us have a background in healthcare and science - and could do wonders for the world of research... though our conditions hold us hostage. It seems as though Fibromyalgia is holding us back, those who CAN assist with the problem, those who can find the gene/mutation/whatever reason and the appropriate test for it, are held back by the disorder itself!! Sorry.. offtopic vent there! Best wishes, ~ > > Am I the only one who has wierd issues come up when my > doc does bloodwork on me? Sometimes I have a slight > elevation of some liver enzyme.
