Guest guest Posted August 18, 2007 Report Share Posted August 18, 2007 I disagree! Your symptoms are exactly what I experienced when I went from 50 mg. of HC down to 37 mg. The hotness, flushing, sweating, fast heart rate etc....are all low cortisol symptoms and that is what I had happen to me too. Your body is used to the cortisol and you have to be careful and go very slow when you get down below 15mg. of HC. (I read this somewhere and will try to locate it for you) I don't know how long you were on HC and don't know your specifics but, wanted to let you know those symptoms are EXACTLY what I experienced when lowering my dosage. I am now on a steadier dose of Medrol (6mg.) and 7.5 of HC. I will be weaning off the HC next. You may have to go back to a small dose of HC until you can wean a tad slower.....just wanted to let you know that i exp. the same reactions when lowering......Hope you feel better soon :0) Dana p.s. this also does not mean that you have trashed Adrenals, either. I had heart palps, fast pulse, tremors etc....when my FT4 jumped up from .4 to 1.2 What was the range for your FT4 testing? I am sorry but, I don't know much about Graves. Sounds to me like you are swinging back and forth. (like val said) When you tested in the 90's TSH, were you on Armour then? Sounds like the Armour is lowering your TSH, which is good. Gosh, hope your doc can get this straightened out for you soon......Maybe you could get your Adrenals tested again too??
