You are correct in this. The symptoms for too much acid

are the same as to little.

If one has indigestion try taking lemon juice or apple

cider vinegar (live) not from grocery store in a glass

of water if this brings relied you have to little acid.

Thank You.

Re: Re: Low Stomach Acid?

Can you get those first two over the counter? Papypaya enzymes just made me

sick. I am allergic to lots of kinds of fruit. That may be why. I looked at

enzymes once and many of them have ox bile in them. Yuck! No way am I

swallowing that!

Lemon juice has unique properties that allow it to be acid in the stomach

but alkaline once it has left the stomach (due to citric acid, among other

things). As such, it is one of the few things I know of that can compensate

for both too little and too much acid, so it probably wouldn't work well for

this test.

IMHO, ACV would be a better choice to isolate an issue from too little acid.

they are supplements you can buy over the counter - but the 2nd one, Marcozyme,

has

papain in it, which is from papaya.

I know what the issue is with fruit/veggies as I've had it before when

dieting and eating tons of veggies -- excruciating gas! lol I should

get some of these for such an emergency!

I don't know if enzymes help with eating fruit. Does anyone here know that?

Oh no! That would be a hard one for me as I love my berries every day.

Do the enzymes help with eating fruit, then? I used to have a hard time

with dairy but between HC and taking enzymes, I seem to be fine with it

now as long as I don't overdo. I also eat the raw cheese/cream that has

the enzymes still in it.

I would think that they can, but I'm sure there are certain things that

enzymes just won't help, and it's an individual thing. For instance, for me,

if I eat too much sugar or carbs, I get heartburn terribly and indigestion,

and enzymes aren't going to do a thing for me. Same with too much of

something acidic, like orange juice. I can handle OJ but too much and I

regret it.

Thanks for bringing this up, Holly. I'm new here, just today, and

already I'm having revelations. I've got belly fat from adrenal

fatigue, bad enough, but it always amazes me how much my abdomen

swells after even my first meal of the day, even if it's simple. And

not with any other symptoms necessarily but have had loads of trouble

with indigestion, etc. tho nothing that would, for instance make me

think I was lactose intolerant. Currently have a little vial of grape

leaf bitters or something like that -- bitter is definitely the

operative word -- that I bought last year thinking I might have an

issue, which was before the adrenal piece even came up. ~M
