My Mom, who had open RNY in January, had to go have her wedding ring cut off beforehand. in Sacramento Dr. in Burlingame Lap RNY 9-16-02 380-315-130? 5'2 " " Dare to Believe... Guest guest
, Most surgeons will just wrap your finger in tape during the surgery if the ring wont come off. Just let the nurses in pre-op know about the ring.... Deby > Hi everybody. > Here is a preop question. Did you have to remove all of your > jewelery? I have a rind that I can't get off my finger. Guest guest
ok answer to the jewelry question. It is best to remove all rings and metal from your body. We use electrocautery, and although you are grounded, you can get a burn at the site of the metal. THIS IS RARE!!! BUT CAN HAPPEN, That's the big reason. The second reason is that your hands will swell and yes it might have to be cut off. Sorry the surgical nurse (yes I work in the operating room taking care of patients undergoing an operation) Debbie in Cleveland
Guest guest
Yes, it has to come off. You've tried soap and vegetable oil? That's all I know to do.
