Guest guest
Your TSH is actually reflecting your true thyroid state as your T3 is WAY too low. I would suggest some steady dose increases but the high temps are troublesome. I have seen a couple people wiht really bad adrenals have the high temps from high cortiosl or thyroid resistance as a toxicity symptom but your thyroid labs dontl really look like that either. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets

Guest guest
Well, maybe that isn't the case for me bc my FT4 has always been low. Even when I first became hypo. The only time my FT4 raised was at 3 gr. and extra T4 of .025. (in March) But, then had severe reaction from my FT4 going up to 1.1 at that time. Went off the extra T4 and dropped my dose of Armour down to 1.50 gr. and it wasn't until I went on Medrol & dropped my HC dose down that my TSH went up to 2.28 and my FT4 dropped back down to .4 Could the Medrol be causing this? My hair is falling out in handfuls and it is freaking me out! Or, could it be from my hysterectomy that is causing all this? (higher TSH etc...) Any ideas? Guest guest
The hyst would be the most likely cause. It REALLY stresses your whole body and takes at least 6 months to completely recover. Plus your adrenals now have a new chore.. to make up the hormones that your removed parts used to do. What they don;t tell you is that even wiht keeping your ovaries they stop functioning soon after a hyst as the blood flow ios cut off which used to come from your uterus. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
So would being on bio-identical hormones (bi-est, progesterone, testosterone) and DHEA be considered adrenal support? wrote: > > The hyst would be the most likely cause. Guest guest
>>So would being on bio-identical hormones (bi-est, progesterone, testosterone) and DHEA be considered adrenal support?<< Not really! It would be takign some of the strain off adrenals that are stretched too far, btu there is still the 80+ other hormones the adrenals must produce, mostly cortisol, but DHEA is a type of adrenal support but not necessarily what you need. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

They also don't tell them that a hyst can cause incontinence in the future. << Ha! Dana after all the experiences wiht doctor's " honesty " on these lists did you really think an OB GYN is different? Guest guest
Sandy, Did you mean to say bc my FT4 was always low? That is what I am wondering too. Maybe I convert too well and it gets converted to RT3, which would explain why my FT3 has stayed the same all these months on HC? Maybe it would explain the constant 98.6 or higher temp. too.....Yesterday, I was sweating bullets just increasing my Armour by .15.(3rd day on increase) And, I felt real jittery all day, with the fun palps at nighttime. Geesh, I am sick to death of all this crap. I want more than anything to get off these steriods now and it is so hard. I messed up so badly by taking too much and now I am suffering the consequences. Last night I was soooo depressed bc this has been a constant battle since March. Sorry for the rant! Guest guest
I would think if your T4 is low and your temp is high that something odd is going on. RT3 causes low temps though. I hate to suggest this but perhaps you need to get tested for tick-borne infections or viral infections. If your T4 is low and your rT3 is high, then that explains the low T4. Perhaps the high temps are related to chronic mono or Lyme. -- Re: Need help figuring out my numbers, symptoms etc. ...(long) Sandy, Did you mean to say bc my FT4 was always low? Guest guest
I had a partial hysterectomy when I was 27. I also had//have PCOS which causes to many male hormones and throws off the estrogen/progesterone balance. I have been going to a doc for thyroid and the sex hormones but I am not happy with him. He is the same one who didn't test the adrenals and took my throid meds up too slowly. He is more about growth hormone. I read some of the messages on the pituatary gland on STTM site. had one posted that said it you should be treated in this order .... adrenal, thyroid, sex hormones and then growth hormone if needed. He also posted that if a doc pushes growth hormones first to run. All I know is after 5 years and 3 docs I am no better and probably worse than when I started. I was on growth hormone for 2 years and it didn't help. My starting dose on Armour was 1 grain and then 6 months later 1.5 and then 6 months after that 2 grains and then 3 months ago he increased it to 3 grains. That is when I decided to search for the natural thyroid group and found this one as well. I started on HC about 2 weeks ago. Right now I am on 5/2.5/2.5 and back up to 2.5 grains of armour. I use Bi-Est cream for estrogen/progesterone but at this point I am not sure if it is the right amounts or what my blood work should look like when estrogen/progesterone and testosterone is done. The last time my labs were done my testosterone was 7.4 with a lab range of 0.1 to 6.4 so it is definetly to high. I seen something posted here or on the thyroid group on sex hormones and amounts post menopasal women should aim for and estrogen and progesterone both look to low from my lab work. It looks like my progesterone should be 11 but my lab shows 1.7 and my doctor says that it is okay. I say time for a new doc but I have no clue where a good doc is to be found. I am going to call the compounding lab that does my bi-est and see if they can give me the name of a doc or two. But then I have to figure out the adrenal and thyroid. I almost am to depressed and too tired to deal with it all. Re: Need help figuring out my numbers, symptoms etc....(long) The proper sequence ot balanceing hormones is Adrenal, thyroid then sex hormones, unles oyu have something you KNOW is causing low sex hormones, liek having a Hyst. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
Guest guest
Kattie sorry you are having the Doctor Hell as well as Health Hell. the two together are unbearable! I stopped going to doctors jsut short of them killing me three different times. I am really no help in finding a good doc, just want you to know you are not alone in this frustration. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Definitely sounds like you could use progesterone. Are you taking any soy, black cohosh, or anything that could be increasing your estrogen? Usually using the P for the 2 weeks prior to expected onset of menses will help with this. > > > The proper sequence ot balanceing hormones is > > Adrenal, thyroid then sex > > hormones, unles oyu have something you KNOW is > > causing low sex hormones, > > liek having a Hyst. > > > > -- > > Artistic > > Grooming- Hurricane WV > > > > > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > > > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ > > http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical > > Alert Bracelets > > > > > > > > > ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ > Looking for a deal? Guest guest
This breast condition began when I started Cortef. Is it just coincidental that it showed up at this time? M. wrote: >>Val - I have developed sore breasts 8 months ago and have been on HC and Armour since then. I thought it was due to lack of iodine but I take 1-2 ioderal tablets daily and there hasn't been any improvement. They are also a cup size larger which is nice, LOL. The only other possiblity is lack of progesterone, correct? << Low cortisol causes high estrogen, so I would eb suspicious you arenot on enough HC. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ --------------------------------- Luggage?
