Guest guest
Someone on another group turned me on to www.fitday.com, a cool web site where you can track exactly what you're eating in a day and what your energy output is. True to my anal retentive self, I've been tracking myself for the past three days. I'm really surprised at how some of the readings are coming out. I thought I was eating a fairly healthy diet, but am consuming much more fat than I thought I was. The carbs are coming out a little higher than I figured, but when I subtract out the fiber I'm right on track. The program shows that I'm burning more than I'm taking in in a day, which is a good thing except I don't really want to lose more weight. I'm averaging something like 60-some grams of fat in a day, way over the 30 grams recommended in the ADA diet. Just over half of them are monounsaturated, so that's good, I guess. My carbs minus the fiber are working out to around 100-120 grams per day. My question is, has anyone else done this level of tracking, and what did you find? I really had no idea that I was getting around 45 percent of my calories from fat. Yikes! Christy
