Guest guest
, Does anyone else here have trouble with their teeth? I have trouble with receding gums. It is definitely getting worse. My teeth are also extremely sensitive to cold. I find myself clenching my jaws a lot and I also "suck" on my teeth, for lack of a better word. I feel like I have something caught in between my front (top and bottom) teeth and I work my tongue on them until my tongue is raw. I have to continually stop myself. Because of the medications I take, I have a dry mouth all the time. That leads to a greater build up of plaque. That could cause the bad taste and the feeling like there is something stuck--it does with me. It can also cause bad breath. These are all recent problems (within the last few years). I see my dentist 2Xs a year. The hygenist cleans my teeth. I use a fluoride paste to help with the pain; I use Sensidyne toothpaste; and chew sugarless gum when I can't brush. Also be less vigorous brushing your teeth and brush away from your gums--very hard to train yourself to do. I don't drink really cold drinks and prefer my fruit at room temperature. The gaps in your teeth could be caused by shrinking gums. My teeth get aching from sinus problems too. I don't eat much at all because it all makes me hurt. I've been this route for years. Finally the pain of not eating became greater than the after effects of a meal. Food also shows up in my stools. The doctor doesn't seem to be concerned about that (that is probably another issue that needs to be addressed) I don't know if this is unusual with UC. I also have this. I've never really thought much of it. Hope my experiences help you some. Take care, Cheryl in IdahoAny ideas? Solutions? I suck on them because they hurt so much.Thank you!ANna
