Wal-Mart and SAM'S CLUB(R) Host FREE ($75 worth) Diabetes Screenings Nationwide

Diabetes impacts the lives of nearly 40 million Americans each year and ranks as the nation's sixth leading cause of death. Recognizing the widespread impact of this condition, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. is hosting a Diabetes Event in SAM'S CLUBS on Friday, September 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and in Wal-Mart stores on Saturday, September 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

During the Diabetes Event, customers can participate in free bloodglucose, cholesterol and blood pressure screenings from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Wal-Mart stores and select SAM'S CLUB locations. The value of the tests is more than $75 and will be performed by certified medical technicians. Additionally, customers and members will receive free product samples and a complimentary diabetes resource book with helpful information on awareness, prevention and managing diabetes through blood glucose monitoring, meal planning and exercise.
