My husband was 14 years older than I. He died at age 68, in 1988. I asked him on his 65th birthday: " What do you consider old? " His reply was: " Anyone older than I am! " Of course he was blind the last 11 years of his life, and thus could not watch himself age. I think that with that kind of attitude, we miss a lot of stress some get from trying to escape aging.
