Guest guest
As I sit here writing this, I can feel that I am having an afib attack. I need to find out more about this condition as quickly as possible. So, I thought maybe I could ask you kind people where I should start. I also suffer from " Restless Legs Syndrome " . This is another progressive, mystery disease that has various causes, various treatments, and that people struggle to control. I think afib is probably similar. That is, different things work for different people, and different things aggrevate it for different people. Right? Here is a very short biography: (By the way, the handle " LightChucker " comes from my association with the " CandlePowerForums.com " user group. We call ourselves " flashaholics " , because we collect hi-tech, flashlights.) I was born in 1946. I think I was about 12 years old when I had my first afib attack. It always went away, so I never even told my parents. I think it was about 1980 when I had a tachacardia event that sent me to the hospital. I had another one around 1988. On rare occassions, I would feel my heart skip and thump. I carried a monitor twice. I have been on hypertensive medication since about 1980. In 2002, I suffered a spontaneous retinal detachment in my left eye. Over the next 5 months, I endured 11 eye surgeries that resulted in the loss of sight in my left eye, and a kidney stone surgery. After those surgeries, all my conditions worsened. My blood pressure became more unstable, I contracted sleep disorders such as " Restless Legs Syndrome " , I have severe back pain, and my afib attacks became more frequent. Since being officially diagnosed with afib, I am now taking 200 mg. of Flecinide and 50-75 mg. of Topril-XL daily. Resently, I had my first TIA, which was caused by the afib. I was imediately put on Coumadin. Can you please get me started with a " frequently asked questios " page or " body of knowledge " for this group? Thanks so much!
