ok everyone, an update on how i'm doing at my mom's house. with the exception of the Christmas eat-junky-a-thon, I have been doing well. I am eating phase 2 foods though adding in some higher glycemic foods to support my training. I am back to tracking calories and carb/fat/protein ratios, but again it's for my training. I think my jeans are just getting stretched out, but in any case they feel more baggy, so I'm going to go with it.

I have kept my promise of working out over the holidays, but that's a no-brainer for me. Christmas eve I ran just over six miles in 4 degree weather, Christmas ran around 5, the next day power walked on a treadmill at 15% grade, yesterday cycled for 50 minutes and did a core workout, today I cross country skied for two hours. I am feeling better with the additional carbs and calories. My energy is returning as is my want to workout longer.

I think I am going to hit my weight goals. I don't know what I weigh now but am staying positive about it.

What I AM proud of is that my mom and I went shopping yesterday looking for a pair of skis. well we'd been going for a long time, got lost at one point, and I hadn't eaten in four hours and we still had more stuff to do. Well, we went to a restaurant - and my parents LOVE buffets, so we went to Old Country Buffet. As hungry as I was, I stuck with the plan and had beef liver about 3 oz, a lot of salad and vegetables. I had a small bite of her cheesecake, I mean SMALL, and that was the only bad thing I had. In the past when I went to buffets I knew it would be a slaughterhouse for my diet. I had NO self control. Now I think of the end goal, being a fast racer etc, and know I want that more. My mom was trying HARD to get me to eat badly. I just told her, I want a 3:15 marathon more than I want that cheesecake, besides I'm not hungry anymore anyway.

I put a lot of the most exposed junky food on a lower shelf where I don't see it everytime I pass by it. I don't know if she will like that I moved it. But I don't like having the stress of seeing it there EVERY TIME I GO INTO THE KITCHEN. No, I probably wouldn't eat it, but it's an additional stress and something that I see all the time, and don't need the constant temptation. It was goldfish crackers, pretzels, biscotti, good n' plenty candy mixed with gummi bears, maybe some other stuff.

ok. hope everyone's holidays are going well!
