Guest guest
Hi everybody. My Xmas present was a diagnosis of a-fib. Self-pity now officially over! I have had the monitor, I'm on warfarin and 2 blood tests down. This may be a long road so I hope I can ask all the dumb questions I have stored up. I had a major scare while traveling with rapid arrhythmic heart rate jumping from a normalized 50 to 60 bpm and 115-120 over 80-90 to about 80 bpm characterized by rapid catch- up beats. Accompanied by some tingling feeling in extremities (hands and feet) and some light-headedness. No shortage of breath, blackouts or fainting. I am a regular runner averaging 20 to 25 miles a week, have led a physically active life style all my life, and have generally healthy eating habits. My blood tests showed high cholesterol, which is a bit odd as I am 6 foot, 165lbs, and eat chicken without the skin! I can't remember the last time I ate fast or fried food. I am resident in central Connecticut.. Thanks in advance for the support and help. All the best Christian
