Guest guest
Hi Are you still with us? Are you ok? Please keep in touch and let us know how you are. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is very concerned for you. I am concerned also if anything that has been said here, including by me, might have played some part in your bad drinking episode. I know you were concerned about ex-AA's drinking very soon after leaving AA. We talked about how the AA programming can prime ppl to binge drink, but there's more to it than that. I think most ppl beceome alcoholic/addict because of PTSD like you and i know we have. In fact it is Complex PTSD, CPTSD, a particularly severe form caused by prolonged, inescapable abuse, especially when as a child. Therapy can help, as we have both been helped. but I dont think one ever truly gets over CPTSD - it can simply be dealt with to the point where one can cope with it. This means that alcohol or drugs (including the candy I regularly binge on) can remain risky for life, without needing any genetic " predisposition " to explain it. Anyway, please do let us know how you are gettin on. I hope we will meet someday. Best, Pete
