Guest guest
Cheri, I know a mom with a daughter with rett, who does have elevated lactate levels, who uses phosphatidylserine. My daughter, who has rett, and an mecp2 mutation known to cause rett, has mildly elevated pyruvate, and upon fasting, had a mild lactate increase. The jury is out on whether she has a mito issue, but there is some theory that the fallout of rett (mecp2 mutation) may in essence cause a mito problem.... Anwyay, I wonder why you are considering phosphatidylserine? We delve into the supplement stuff too somewhat, one thing at a time. My husband has a research background, and basically, I can tell you from experience, from 2 parents who really weren't into the supplementation thing, creatine made a huge difference for my daughter - after we started using it for cellular protection against oxidative stress, we found tons of literature on it for many neuromuscular diseases- used to increase muscle mass and add weight in muscle (rather than just adding fat on our kids). Coenzyme q10 also seemed to make her feel generally better.... I also have seen that if I increase amanda's supplements (creatine, coenzyme q10 and vite E) to 3 times a day, rather than twice, her evening hours are significantly better - way less fatigue, much more speech, better breathing, and more interactive. I wonder if other folks find going 3 times a day with supps instead of 2 is more helpful? , , 8, CT, USA, mecp2 results - 1163, 44 base pairs deleted, possible mito The Great Mississippi River Race for Rett Syndrome, 2001 http://rettriverrace.bms.com ---------- >From: clcr12345@... >To: Mitoegroups >Subject: mary >Date: Fri, May 12, 2000, 4:29 PM > > > In a message dated 5/12/00 3:56:23 AM, Mitoegroups writes: > >>I just reread this - what is the phosphatidylserine complex trial?
