I have a question for all of you. Margaret like most of your children does not

get hungary. I was wondering what some of you are doing to feed your children.

I am determined to resist the gtube as long as possible. Maybe that is silly,

but she is doing better with solid food that she ever has before. Margaret

currently drinks two bottles of pediasure a day and eats about 2 jars of baby

food a day, mostly cereal or bananas with a few other things here and there.

She has been maintaining her weight and has gained about 1 pound in the last 2

months. I would appreciate any feeding tips you all have for me. Margaret did

chew on a gerber biter biscuit last night. this was the first time she tried to

eat a cookie so I was very excited.

, I have walked in these shoes!!!!!!! i have becomes very creative in

getting Lexi to eat, so here are a few of my tried and true tips:

since they don't eat much, make sure EACH BITE counts--load her up with fats,

cream sacues, butters, REALLY REALLY pour on the calories...if you serve

crackers, try soaking them in heavy cream, or melted butter (also helps to

soften them)

one of lexi's favorites has become peanut butter mixed with powdered

milk...forms into a play-doh consistency that is easy for her to eat since

she has a very poor chew/swallow pattern

also, i am always experimenting with new ways to tempt her, since there is

almost nothing that she will consistently eat. for awhile, she ate buttered

crackers and peanut butter balls; now she has stopped eating all together,

although just tonight she was tempted by a brownie that i soaked in cream

(spoon fed)--sounds nasty to me, but she did actually eat two bites!

will write more ideas down as they pop into my head--keep trying!
