Guest guest
I wish to suggest to others who may have memory problems that you may consider making a " memory book " . I have specific type of memory problems due to stroke type events and TIA's and I am hard pressed to come up with strategies to assist me. I have in my memory book anything, everything that I need to remember on a non daily basis and then I have it on my " daily to do list " to look at it daily. Going over it daily can remind me of problems that have already been resolved, but I have " forgotten " what the solution was or even if there ever was one! For example, it is so obvious to us that because of how I am affected as well as how my youngest is affected that I can never be functionally income productive ever again. No, we don't have a magical solution to how to handle such if something should ever happen to my DH or if he should become incapacitated, and we don't have any ideas if I should get significantly worse, but we do have an idea of how we may at least not starve to death! I have rehashed this subject over and over again repeatedly because I can never remember that we have come up with a few ideas. That is in my memory book along with other " normal " memory reminders like our anniversary, passwords, pin numbers, etc. Just thought I'd share in case someone else can't " remember " how to problem solve!
