Uterine scoring during surgery

I forgot who, but someone wrote about a surgical technique to do a uterine scoring to promote bleeding and then healing. I thought this was odd so I wrote Dr. Indman about this and this is his brief reply. Dr. Indman is an A list doc and he doesn't think this sounds sound. This is a precaution...hope it helps.

"He was explaining a little about how he treats it and used the term d & c. I flat out asked him if that is what he did because that is the worst possible of treatments for AS. He said that after he cuts with the microscissors, he takes the cutting device and gently scores the uterus to promote bleeding and then inserts the IUD. That is what he meant by d & c.
