Guest guest
Hey Amie, How are you today? Not sure what to say about going into junkfood obstacle courses other than ignore it and maybe stop someplace before you get there and get some carrots and cottage cheese and things you can eat to store in the fridge while your there. I'm taking a day off to on the 26th cause that's when the family can get here for Christmas dinner. I'm looking forward to it. Are you sticking with SBD or are you doing that other thing you were talking about? Sounded very good, could you tell me more. Is it 2 weeks on phase 1, then 1 week on Phase 2 to prevent plateaus? Nicky NICE WAY TO PULL THOUGH!! I'm on day 8 and having cravings. It's my own fault though as food supply is running low. I am leaving to go out of town for the holidays though and am wary of buying at this point, too! On that note, I'm staying with my mom whose house is like a bakery, donut shop, candy store, junk-food-and-sugary-cereal-isle-of-the-grocery-store, and fast food joint all in one. And she leaves it all over the house and will take a bowl and put it right next to you - she's always thought I eat too healthfully and doesn't understand why I don't eat all that junk!!!. There's too much stuff to move it all out of sight, and if i did that, she'd get mad at me because " it's her house " . If anyone has any suggestions to help me get through a week of that, I'd appreciate it!! I am taking a free day Christmas Eve/Day but don't want to do more than that! -- ~Nicky~ http://whisper.at/carreno www.Nicks5x5.com
Guest guest
Yeah I'm doing great today! The thing with my mom's place is I'm going to be staying there for about a week probably. I just need to be strong about it, carry the picture, and think about the goal. Like Covey says in The Seven Habits of Highly Successful People, "Begin with the end in mind". I am not going to focus on how fat I will be if I eat whatever is there. I'm going to focus on how good I will feel and look, and the times when I did weigh less and what THAT felt like, if I continue to eat healthfully. If I do eat bad over Christmas, again I'm not going to think about the fat/calories it's putting on. I'm going think about how much more powerful my workouts will be with that extra energy powering me through them! I am sticking with SBD. I am doing my phase 1 now normally, then going into phase 2 for two weeks (crossed the holidays, too!) then I am going back into phase one for a week, then back to phase two for two weeks. You could go into phase 1 for two weeks, but that would be more risking the metabolism slow-downs, I would say probably a week at a time for phase one would be best. But everyone is different! Once I lose 7-8 more lbs, I'm staying on phase 2 because at that point I will have started marathon/triathlon training and there's no way with phase 1 I can do that type of activity. In fact I might cycle phase 2 and phase 3 during that time in the same way. My initial goal is 7-8 lbs from where I am now, and the long term goal is 5 lbs less than that. So another words in my off-season, I want to weight 127-128 and in-season 122-123. Phase 2 is pretty much like my diet before SBD as far as the foods you can eat, but I haven't looked at how much you can eat of things, so it might be different in that way. -Amie From: Nicky Sent: Thursday, December 16, 2004 9:00 AMTo: South-Beach-Diet-Getting-It-Right Subject: Amie Hey Amie,How are you today? Guest guest
Good idea from Amie about cycling ph 2 for 2 weeks, then ph 1 for 1 week, again, again, again. I think would work great! *BUT* no oatmeal in Ph 1!!!! Kris RE: Amie Yeah I'm doing great today! The thing with my mom's place is I'm going to be staying there for about a week probably.
