Guest guest
Hello so sorry your feeling roughed up today. Wanted you an everyone to know that from EVERYTHING I have read on those its rarely harmful, mine is the size of a whole tennisball, its so visible on MRI it takes up a huge area Ive had it for years and years and it can go up and down in size it can be painful or I donate think about it. You would not have had the risk for Infection from that unless it had been opened to be drained thaws the only way, its significance is usually nothing it is kind of its own entity from what other NSGs have told me and Ive read, that's why it just sits there on the ooutside on the cervical (usually upper or base of neck), sometimes they are drained but much more often left alone, thats! when you have a risk of infections such as Meningitis or Staph. Hope tomorrow is better for you, I know its frustrating when they don't you all these things, just remember SOME of the things may be harmless and not worth even getting upset about when you already have a lot to think about medicaly. Just make sure you bring it up with the NSG so they make note that you are aware what is there. Peace Dali Dawn in CO
Guest guest
Hi, It has been a beautiful day in my little corner of Gods country. The sun was out and it was warm enough that I did not have to put wood on the wood stove. I went a picked up the MRI's I have had over the last year. They will be going with me to my new nsg in Rodchester NY on Monday. When going over the reports I was shocked to find out that I had, had a large pseudomeningocele after my decompression surgery in April last year. It was noted on the MRI I had in June. It was also noted at that time that there was a possible dural defect. The pseudomeningocele was at the base of the occiput extending into the upper cervical region C2-3 level. In September it was noted that there was a resolution of the suboccipital pseudomeningocele. On the MRI's done Feb 7 this year the pseudomeningocele is seen again. It is 1 cm in size. Not once in this entire year of dealing with this chiari monster has this been mentioned to me. I had the shunt placed in the syrnix in July. The reports also mention that there is mild diffuse disc bulges at C3- C6 levels and a small central disc herniation at C7 There is adhesions noted at the craniectomy and laminectomy sites which is not supprising. The MRI I had in February also stated there is an enhancement around the syrnix cavity catheter. This happened before and my nsg treated it as an inflammtion and possible shunt regection. I had to take steroids to correct it. Now it is back and has gone untreated by him. I have to wonder if the pseudomeningocele is the source of the staph infection I had a cuple weeks ago, Can a pseudomeningocele of this size cause all the problems I have been having? Is it safe to let this thing be setting in there? I was not able to find much information on this. Can someone please help me on this. I wish I could show you folks the whole group of MRI reports There is a series of eight in all. This has certainly been an eye opener. I feel kind of stupid. Here I am a year out from diagnoisis and have had a lot done and am just finding this information out.
