Guest guest
I've been reading my mail for the past couple of days, but haven't had a chance respond. I've noticed a lot of similarities in Chelsea. She's been off school for the past week and has wanted to sleep all the time. Last weekend was busy, we had a wedding and birthday party and she did great! Better than ever. But all week, she just wanted to to sleep and was very gurgly. She also seemed pale off and on. I finally took her to the dr on fri and she said her lungs sounded fine, but she was put on antibiotics as a preventative and because I said her upper respiratory gurgle was constant. We suspect a cold, but her secretions don't seem thick. I just don't know. Her lactic acid levels have always been normal. I'm pretty sure that was checked when she was in the hospital with pneumonia. And a few weeks ago I was suspecting low blood sugar, but it was normal when tested. I'm wondering if it could be due to her sleep obstruction and the fact that her schedule has changed. Any thoughts on this? On another subject, my mother has been tenatively diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, it's an auto immune disease that attacks mainly skeletal muscles. It characteristically causes weakness thru exertion, but strength returns with rest. Her mother had this, but died of cancer. It's not known to be genetic, but this sort of makes me wonder. My mother's brother had kidney shut down as a child, he grew up to be healthy. I may be drawing my own crazy conclusions, Chelsea's neuro didn't think my grandmother's or my uncle's conditions had anything to do with Chelsea's. I was wondering if other's families have similar histories? Or if this is just coincidence? e, mom to Chelsea (undiagnosed mito)
