Guest guest
Hey everyone, Went to the doctor for a checkup yesterday. Had my fears confirmed that I don't just have Lupus in my joints and muscles as I had been told. Looks like it's now affecting my nervous system and brain as well. I kept wondering why I was having trouble finding words when talking, dizziness when standing or sittin still, parts of my extremities will just stop working every now and then...usually I fall. He said it also explains the deep inside itching I have...irritated nerves. I'm actually relieved. Thought I might have Alzheimer's since it's big in my family. At least with Lupus there is a " chance " of getting better or staying the same. He gave me a stronger sleeping pill since my symptoms are worse when I'm not sleeping. Also gave me Arthrotek to try. I respond well to NSAIDs for about two weeks, then they eat my stomach up. This one is supposed to be milder on the tummy. Anyone tried it? I'm successfully stearing away from steroids so far, but if the brain/nervous system get worse, may have to succumb. Thanks for listening. Have a great day everyone, and keep breathing! Guest guest
I'm sorry the Lupus is spreading What test did the doc do to confirm nerve involvement? I can't find words to save my a..! Dizzy spells come and go.. not as frequent lately. The latest NSAID I've tried is Bextra and I have to take it with Zantac. If taken with the antiacid it is not too bad. Hope you get relief! Let me know if the Arthrotek works for you! I'll have to try it! Feel better soon, don't forget to get plenty of rest!
