Guest guest
I am new to the group and new to accepting my ms diagnosis. It took me 35 years to get to this point. I felt the doctors were in far too much of hurry to tell me that my life was over before I was 20. Words like " you can't " and " you will never " make me stop listening. I have found a lot of benefit from Chinese medicine when I lived in Ca, herbs, homeopathy, ostepathy, and naturopathy. I no longer live there and am limited to what my small country town has to offer unless I want to drive 200 miles.  My naturopath was giving me hydrogen peroxide chelation and we have discussed colloidial silver as a possibility. The chelation was helping tremendously until the stress got to me during a major life change. I began getting worse. I think my naturopath got scared then. I feel like we have not gone far enough on the natural route.  I got refered to a nuero who informed me that there is nothing other than her drugs that can help me. I am not buying it. She wants to do a spinal and I had a very bad result with the last one. She wants to do that so she can put me on Avonex and frankly I don't know which scares me more-her drugs or the spinal.  I found that there are numerous foods that make me sick. Don't know or care at this point if it is an allergy, a trigger, or what. If it makes me sick, I do not eat it. I eat very simply and basic nutritional foods. I have found that thelasperma or greenthread also called Navajo tea, but it is not Mormon tea, helps with my breathing and croupiness symptoms. Not sure of the reason for this. But it helps and does not hurt so I am all for it.  I would be happy to hear any advice you can give me  Dole Subject: Re: High Dose Fish Oil To: mscured Date: Saturday, June 18, 2011, 10:53 PM  thanks for writing! would like to know how much oil and vit D u take. > > Hi... >  > I tried high dose fish oil after I first read The Zone books years ago. I agree that you do have to follow his diet outlined in the text to achieve optimal benefits. I don't follow a strict diet anymore... I am blaming my toddler. : ) But I still do eat a very healthy diet and take high doses of fish oil, vitamin D and a couple of other things, and I am doing amazingly well. Neuros gave me a very poor prognosis, and I have gotten so much better without any MS drugs. Yay! : ) Like many on this list, I feel that it is difficult to attribute success to one thing when we do so many. But, in my experience, fish oil is certainly worth a try. Best of luck to you, and I am always happy answer any questions! Have a great day! >  > Best regards, > Jana > >
Guest guest
Hi... Sorry I haven't checked messages in awhile. : ) To answer your questions... I take high dose fish oil, but not as much as I once did, or as much as Sears recommends. I take 3000mg of Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon Oil by Vital Choice and 1800mg of Nordic Naturals DHA. I do eat an insane amount of wild salmon now, which is why I have scaled back the oil intake. Um, and the vitamin d... now I am taking 10000iu a day. That is the approx amount we make in the sun, but I don't go out in the peak hours, so I supplement. I am also super-fair, so I burn... otherwise I would just step outside and catch some rays which is the preferred way to get vit d. : ) But, I do stay on top of my levels... even though I take up to 25000iu in the winter, and 10000iu in summer, my levels have never been dangerous, just optimal. Different for everyone though, so it is important to get your levels tested if you take high dose vit d! : ) Here is a link to a great site on vit d... you can poke around... lots of great information. www.vitamindcouncil.org/about-vitamin-d/how-to-get-your-vitamin-d/uvb-exposure-s\ unlight-and-indoor-tanning/ Hope this helps! Guest guest
Hi Dole,  I know this is not going to help you but you said you were treated by a naturopath in CA? was it southern or northern because the hydrogen peroxide chelation sounds interesting to me. I live in the Bay Area.  I am sure there are others on the group that will have suggestions for you besides the nueros who I find practically useless. Have you been tested for Lyme disease by a reputable lab? It can cause a lot of the same symptoms, Also, some of the people on the group are doing well on the Prokarin patch. I hope you find the answer. I know how stressful events in life can make it worse.  Best,  Subject: Re: High Dose Fish Oil To: mscured Date: Saturday, June 18, 2011, 10:53 PM  thanks for writing! would like to know how much oil and vit D u take. > > Hi... >  > I tried high dose fish oil after I first read The Zone books years ago. Guest guest
I used to live on the southern end of the bay. But, I am sorry, my naturopath was in AZ, not Ca.  I was too afraid of it to try it then. You might try my homeopath. Seems to me he may have suggested it. Dr. Rosett in Salinas. He is an md who did not like medicine after he got into it. There had to be a better way, he decided and went back into homeopathy.  Have you tried Chinese Medicine? Second question, if you have and it didn't work who did you go to? It makes a big difference. I found a lot of help from Five Branches traditional Chinese medicine in Santa Cruz though. Dr. Doug Wang -there are two Wangs-was my doctor and I reccomend him highly. Also, in San , there is Flavin who does accupuncture, tcm. Very innovative practitioner. I wish there was someone out here worth going to for TCM but I love my life in my little town. Good luck to you.  Dole  I managed to avoid a nuero for the last 20 some years until now. And I think it is more the lawyers and the gov. (fed subsidised practice) who make my md want me to go that route than anything. Guest guest
Does anyone know if the Wild Alaskan Salmon is affected by the nuclear fallout in Japan? I used to eat a lot but have been concerened about that. Zoe ________________________________ To: mscured Sent: Sun, June 19, 2011 4:16:17 PM Subject: Re: High Dose Fish Oil  Hi...
