Guest guest
Does anyone else find it hilarious how much air-time AA gets? Psychobabble used to be confined to AfterSchool specials, now NYPD Blue, Third Watch, etc are holding AA up as the only hope for alcoholics and their families. The funniest is on the soaps, where the writing is much less sophisticated so AA-speak is clumsily inserted like so much out-of-date slang. Knowing how the ideal, serene stepper is supposed to conduct their life, it is funny to watch the chosen AA characters on soaps. One is quite definitely a " villain " , pausing from her evil machinations, blackmail, lying & seductions to " 12th-step " another character. If I was a card-carrying AA member, I'd be troubled by the mixed message there! But of course if I was troubled by mixed messages, I wouldn't be in AA at all I suppose ... My best to all, ______________________________________________________
