Re: Arm & Hammer Baking Soda has aluminum

Thanks so much for this. I used A & H to make deodorant with coconut

oil, baking soda and a bit of corn starch. Only a tiny jar,

fortunately, so I'll get Bob's Red Mill for next time.

Arm & Hammer confirmed to me by phone that their baking soda does not contain

aluminum. It is mined in Wyoming and comes from a mineral called trona. also the

MSDS sheet

doesn't show any aluminum.

I contacted the doctor who initially told me he had done an independent study

within the last two years where Arm and Hammer tested positive for aluminum; he

does not have the documents readily available but will send them to me.

Arm and Hammer seems fine to me. for those who are uncomfortable using Arm &

Hammer, there are other brands available. The only one that states it is

aluminum free is Bob's Red Mill, and they mine their own in Colorado. Rumford

confirmed by phone that they get their baking soda from Arm & Hammer. Bob's is 3

times the cost of Arm and Hammer so I think I will stick with Arm and Hammer.
