Guest guest
Doug will you be doing protein supplements ? I am a bit concerned about you driving and getting in your protein and vitamins . I think broth and Jell-O will keep pretty easy but when you get on real food and are no longer on puree it won't be too bad an I bet you will be off six weeks since you don't have an easy job anyway right ???? sorry so may questions just trying to keep you healthy TN update on me > well sorry it's been so long but being a truck driver I tend to B out > 3 to 4 weeks at a time. Guest guest
Hey Doug - I have a list of things to have on hand at home after surgery that I will send to you privately. Maybe you can get some ideas from it for in the truck. The most important things will be your protein drinks and water, and vitamins. Good luck with your pre-op testing. Guest guest
Question to you folks out there who work. I am in a little bit of a dilemma. I work in surgery (operating room) and we get 15 mins x2 for breaks (sometimes if we have the staff) and 30 mins for lunch. I try to grab a drink at the water fountain whenever I'm out of the room, but we can't take beverages in the room. So, any suggestions about getting water in and protein drinks. And how do you folks mix them when you are at work? Deb (in Cleveland

Guest guest
I do work, and I take my protein in water bottles and go to the fountain and add water to the bottles, shake up real good, and drink. Other times I have ice available to me, and I have a shaker cup so, I also carry powder in a zip-lock. In addition, I drink a shake in the car on the way to work, then on the way home. That gets two out of the way, and then I always have one before bed, that's three... then I usually do one on each of my breaks morning and afternoon, to make 5, sometimes I get in six or seven :-) B Distal RNY 12/95 275/145/155 bounceback
