arne -- i fwded your mt. whitney post to jim & jason... whether or not you happened to be 25 years old at the time, arne, five-count-'em-five 14,000 ft peaks in one day?!? well... they told me to tell you that YOU ROCK!!! (then again, they need to tell me something about you that we in the group all don't already know about you...) ;-) btw, per your subject line of "sort of OT," while technically true, IMHO it's never off-topic when a PSCer can share the tale of climbing a mountain (as in literally. we all know PSC has mountainous characteristics as well. sometimes i think PSC stands for Pretty Staggering Challenge... a la mount whitney. not necessarily insurmountable, mind you, just... mountainous!).

barbara UK -- all things considered, jim & i are actually doing great, thanks (just dealing with each lil crisis as it hits, one at a time). we leave tomorrow night in preparation for jim's clinic at USC in los angeles, his transplant center. i pray to our God in heaven that a hepatologist (and not a surgeon, as brilliant as they all are) runs clinic that day... as i very much want to address jim's/my/the oncologist's/the dermatologist's collective concerns at USC upping jim's prograf dose after jim's last iffy labs. and i can predict that just ain't gonna happen if a surgeon's running the show. the whole *point* of reducing jim's immunosuppression is to stay ahead of any more skin cancers, especially the malignant melanomas! enuf about us -- how about YOU, dear? how are your issues with pain, any improvements there at all? is your sister still living with you? how's your mum doing/getting along? is poppy still her intermittently napping/mischievous feline self?

kate -- glad you liked jim's & jason's mount whitney story. hopefully, jim can get around to posting their picture taken at the mountain top!

kathy -- you said a mouthful! ;-) thanks for the lonnie update, btw. oh, how i envy his only being on mg prograf! if he gets cabin fever being housebound while he's recovering from surgery & banned from resuming his job, aren't there any (physically gentle) projects he can tackle? jim single-handedly remodeled the girls' bathroom *and* the garage while he was away from work (in fact, thanks to the prednisone dose jim was on at the time, he organized every nut & bolt & screw & nail & doo-hickey & thig-a-ma-jig in the garage while he was at it!) of course, now being nearly 3 years out from his tx, you don't wanna see the present state of our garage... *sigh*
