Guest guest
Winand - I had " negative EMGs " for several years before they began to find damage. There is a Doctor in New York that specializes in Diabetes - and he has done lots of research on finding peripheral neuropathy with EMGs. (Peripheral Neuropathy is very common in Diabetes.) He was very frustrated because the EMG wouldn't pick up the damage until it was too late to help the person. He developed a different type of test that is more sensitive to EARLY nerve degeneration. His name is Dr. Dellon - I know him personally - great guy - he doesn't see patients like us, but, just so you know - an EMG can be negative and there still is damage to the nerves - it basically has to be pretty bad for it to actually show up on the EMG.
