Guest guest
Hi you all, Anyone else live in earthquake country like me? That will get your heart started! We had a big one 6.5 about one hour ago. Approximatly 100 miles from us. It was felt up and down the state. Thankfully, I am in NSR for 11 days now! Guess I'm getting used to the rocking and rolling of California by now! Mandy of CA

When our big Nisqually Earthquake struck two years ago, I was nearly hysterical with fear because I am not used to earthquakes. Although Seattle is on the Pacific " Rim of Fire, " we have not had many earthquakes. I was sure that I would go into afib immediately that day because my heart rate was about 200, as I recall. However, I did not go into afib on the day of the earthquake, As I recall I had an afib episode soon after, but then I was having frequent afib episodes at that time anyway. I really can't attribute the afib to the earthquake, but I have noticed in general that afib usually does not strike me while I am under acute stress but rather after I have started to relax after acute stress. I do hope that you will manage to avoid afib now. Just going through an earthquake is bad enough without suffering the consequences of afib. During our big quake, it was a former Californian coworker who calmed me down and told me what was happening. She was so blase about it that I felt foolish about getting so hysterical. She said that Californians are used to quakes, but I can't imagine ever getting used to earthquakes. I understand how you felt and hope that all is well with you! in sinus in Seattle
