Guest guest
Joanie, I empathize with you because I have been tested and have systemic candida and have all kinds of symptons (swelling, arms. legs, stomach, eye, etc.) Friday I am going to try IV hydrogen peroxide. I will let you know if it seems to help. Carol
Guest guest
Dear Joanie, Grapefruit extract is very helpful, as is Swedish bitters and colloidal silver. Unfortunately, if you have candida overgrowth very badly, cutting down on sugar won't do it - you need to take no sugar at all, no cakes, biscuits, sugary foods - as candida grows on sugar. Chris. Guest guest
Hi With Charlie it was definitely a sign of yeast /candida rather than his gluten intolerance ....that would be my guess with your daughter - especially if it is itchy . It may be wise to give her a little time gluten and dairy free before you try and address the yeast as withdrawal is uncomfortable and die off is too - you don't want to put her through both at once . ( I have gone gluten and dairy free myself as we decided to all do it and keep g & C out of the house - headaches , tired , etc for two weekds then VERY energised, better skin and lost two stone without looking !!). Once she is fairly settled on gfcf ( couple of months ) add a pro- biotic ( Kirkmans or Culturelle ) ...you may see die off then at which point you can start thinking/researching about what anti- funagal you wish to use . Yeasyt treatment requires low sugar low yeast diet to treat so this is also not good until gfcf is established - you don't want to cut her diet further ! But try to NOT do what I DID and add loads of cakes and biscuits into her diet once I'd mastered a few decent recepies - it will make it harder to cut down later ! Let me know if you need any more ( there are some good candida treatment books such as a White's handbook which can give you lots of info ) > Deborah, > > So the little red circle around the anus was a symptom of Candida? My daughter has that and it seems to itch just a bit. I looked on the net and saw some serious pictures of yeast infections. Since we just started the gluten free is this a sign of things dying off or is this something that should be treated or will it correct itself? Myra is not autistic at all, but I think she must have some kind of leaky gut syndrome since she is responding so well to the GFCF diet. It is so cool all her many therapist and teachers are just so proud of her accomplishments. Today during speech therapy she was imitation sounds and the therapist is now suggesting possible apraxic characteristics. > > Thanks for your comments. > Deirdre > >

Guest guest
I don't know if it is necessarily an illness that causes candida but the body's allowance for it's growth to go unchecked. Most of our kids have it because they have taken too many antibiotics. When you take them they kill off all bacteria types and this allows yeast to grow uncontrollably. To control it and get your body back in balance you should keep sugar intake to a minimum. This means both the bad sugars like in candy as well as processed white bread and flours. Taking supplements that get rid of excess yeast are helpful like Candex, No Fenol, GSE and oil of oregano. Also taking good probiotics to reintroduce the good bacteria that was killed by antibiotics and help keep the yeast under control. Good luck, I know though that when I was on a literally no sugar diet it killed me at first and then I started feeling so much better. Clear headed and more energy. When I would have a sugar craving I would take some GSE and that helped pretty quickly. I have since fallen off the wagon but am going to go back to that soon. Guest guest
I don't know if it per say concentrates on certain areas, but it does infest the body and release toxins that can cause symptoms in other areas. It gets into the gut/digestive system, the reproductive system, skin, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, brain..so why not knees! You can get yeast rashes on the skin. there are numerous reasons for candida. Metal toxicity, diet, too much antibiotics (which usually follow surgery and might explain your onset of candida), birth control pills, high sugar diets or starch diets, etc. etc. Read the book called The Yeast Connection. What other stuff would you be referring too? Diflucan is an antifungal and can be used with other medications and vitamins and minerals. It can be harder on the liver, but for short term use, is probably fine. Pimpels and fluid excretion could be yeast, or many things. Using the diflucan would alleviate those symptoms of they are from yeast. > > CAn candida toxins accumulate in certain areas of body, like knees? > Can you take diflucan and natural remedies, like gse and caprylic? > how long should one stay on diflucan? > My aribonise is 3x the normal on my oat. Guest guest
No one can say for sure if your symptoms are directly yeast or not. And you are detoxing from mercury, then treating the candida would only help things. If you are referring to smelling toxins being excreted as in foul sweat, this would be metals. This is typical following amalgam removal. But not for yeast issues. Yeast can cause rashes though, I have seen that underarm or on the groin in my kids. It does cause peeling skin in places like under the arms. As for acne...that can be many things, including toxins in the body. The symptoms you describe are not charactaristic for yeast, but treating it anyway would only help you improve. Not sure what the aribinose in your urine means. I have had acne off and on for years, and this is related to the hormone imbalance I have as a result of being mercury toxic. I can say that I do see breakouts happen following a round of chelation, which is when I am dumping more metals, so it might stand fair to say that the acne could be a result of the toxins your body is handling. > > > >DANA, > > > My mma on my urine and blood are normal. Could this be due to the yeast toxins? I have large pimples on > my back. The pimples on the back, at my house, meant food intolerance, yeast overgrowth, or viral detox. Are you taking anti-virals? That can cause joint pain as well as pimples/rash. Muscle spams can be a lot of things. Are there any specific muscles involved? It does remind me a little of when I was mineral deficient. Guest guest
Several of Developed that issue...We used magnesium and Vit C to take care of that.... Candidia is often the cause of celiac....and usually heavy metals and antibiotics are usually the culprits that causes the candida to flare and go crazy. Have you had your hair tested for heavy metals. We did and we were amazed. In the fair test if you read Andy Cutler's book you can find all sorts of hints and helps....you can find out if your thyroid is off and needs to be checked....if your adrenals are an issue and so much more. That was our starting place. What we found was getting the gluten out was a starting point. We also had our allergies tested...and they were considerable. When we removed them and addressed our allergens we were better able to figure out where to go. For us it was supplementing and chelation. I can't say that everything is just fine and our diet is back to normal as it isn't....but we are adapting and learning and slowly getting better.... Once we got our hair test...we were able to see what issues needed to be addressed. For example my high copper levels...and my adrenals and thyroid. All of these things for me cause my gut issues to more of a problem. The other thing we are doing is doing a lot of Weston Price type intervention...albeit we are doing it GF/CF...esp good is the bone broth...very norishing and healing... Despite what docs tell you...celiac isn't a simple issue....I don't have so many issues...and neither do the kids....life is better...in that respect...but it is a trade off....lol.....now we have to swallow a zillion pills.. Hoping this makes sense...just finishing up round 29 of ALA chelation via Andy's protocol. I am not chelating myself at this point because of my high copper levels....but my kids are improving. Best wishes for you....I hope you find your answers soon. > > Ronni said > > > > > > My daughter had something similar to it....I think...by the sound of > it..but also had spots with blisters....and I did too...mine would > get thick and scaley and shed...but never go away...hers did the > same. Hi, I don't mean to be picky about the above comment about the cause of Celiac -I'm not trying to be contentious. I'm just wondering where you got the information that Candida is often the cause of celiac? Celiac has a genetic component to it. They don't know what the trigger is for someone who is gluten intolerant and then becomes Celiac (when it becomes activated and begins detroying intestinal vili). They theorize that eating a diet high in gluten foods, a virus, and stress among other things might trigger it, but I don't think they really know for sure. I guess if you have Candida overgrowth and the immune system is out of whack that could be a trigger. For some women it is after giving birth. There's just not a lot known for sure yet about it, but I have never read that Candida is " often " the cause of it. However, Dr. Fine of Enterolab states (I think I have this accurate) that 75 & of people who are gluten intolerant are yeast intolerant as well - according to his testing. If anyone is Celiac or wants to know morem, a great site (and one from which you can get some GF recipes) is celiac.com Debbie

I'm just wondering where you > got the information that Candida is often the cause of celiac? Didn't figure you were (smile) How else do we learn or change or know when to stand firm except by asking and questioning. Candida is a very malicous thing. Especially if is there in a long term situation such as antibiotics and metals...the combo is really a one-two punch to the gut. Candida can attack the body all over the place. If it gets into the gut it can attack the villa and actually chew holes in it and (flatten....I kinda liken it to a big bruiser of a bully beatin up on a sick kid...the antibiotics or metals do the first job and the Candida finishes)the lining...which can cause the leaky gut syndrome...ie Celiac. I believe has info on her site, Enzymestuff.com and I have seen it on a lot of other sites, also. > > Celiac has a genetic component to it. I don't disagree that there can be a genetic issue to it. Guest guest
Stacie, There's three parts to getting fungal issues under control. 1) A diet that discourages fungal organisms - i.e. no sugar or refined grains 2) Supplements or medication to get rid of fungus 3) Probiotics to put healthy organisms back in the body . . . If you don't do ALL three parts, you won't be successful. . . And, after taking antifungals, diet and probiotics must be consistent and ongoing. Eventually these organisms should be able to keep fungal organisms under control with minimal assistance. It will probably be necessary to take a probiotic, or eat a food with probiotics effects, daily for the rest of ones life because some of the beneficial organisms killed off can never be replaced.
