Transplant 2!

Hi,

I haven't been around for a few weeks because on August 25th I

received my second transplant. PSC came back after the first

transplant which required the second transplant, hopefully it won't

happen again. I'm doing great. The doctors told me that a second

transplant is harder because of all the scare tissue from the first

transplant. The surgery lasted 8 hours. I spent a day and a half

in SICU and was then transferred to the normal floor. Everything

went really well, I was out of the hospital on the 8th day. The

doctors said I set the record at the U of M for the quickest

discharge after a second transplant. The were really pleased with

my progress. They said that it went so well because I kept a

positive attitude and wanted to get out of the hospital. They said

that a lot of people lay around waiting to get better and never do

anything to help themselves. I hope that everyone here gets the

chance to be reborn with a new liver.
