Anything other than eggs for breakfast?

I am considering trying South Beach, but I cannot bring myself to eat

eggs. I am used to Atkins and having sausage or bacon for breakfast.

If I have to eat eggs, it would be a deal breaker for me. Is there

anything else I can have for breakfast, especially the first 2 weeks?

Of course there is. Who says breakfast has to be traditional? Grab some leftover meat and veggies from dinner, have some cheese sticks or soup...

You can make it work for you if you really want it.

The South Beach Diet teaches you to rely on the right carbs and the right fats-the good ones-and enables you to live quite happily without the bad carbs and bad fats. There are also things like Canadian bacon and turkey

bacon. You can have these with some veggies. I think

cucumbers are a good " breakfast " veggie. It's too bad

my cafeteria at work doesn't have them though!

You can have anything from the allowed foods list for breakfast. My

favorite (and so easy) are dinner leftovers.

Eggs are encouraged because they are easy and versatile. However, if you

don't like them, don't eat them. Simple. You can have any of the foods on

the Foods to Enjoy list for Phase 1. You can have dinner in the morning if

that appeals to you. Last night's leftovers are a favorite breakfast in our

house.
