Guest guest
You will have to contact Dynasty and have them work with Yahoo on this. We can't do it as moderators. Some service providers are not accepting yahoo groups due to trying to protect you from spam. I don't think it is really bounced messages, as Alice checks these each day. I will check the mentioned site and get back to you if I find out anything new. laurie " Reply-To: Date: Sun, 26 Jan 2003 06:24:39 -0000 To: Subject: need email help Yahoo has turned off my groups again due to bounced messages.I call my provider and was told it's an anti spam thing. When I checked the bounces I had this message. Guest guest
I tried the site and it was down, but I will try it again tomorrow. You can read the messages off the web site. There was a worm that hit the big computers this morning and this may be affecting things - not sure. laurie " Reply-To: Date: Sun, 26 Jan 2003 06:24:39 -0000 To: Subject: need email help Yahoo has turned off my groups again due to bounced messages.I call my provider and was told it's an anti spam thing. When I checked the bounces I had this message. Guest guest
I think they can do something about it. I don't know if this will work or not, but maybe you could by-pass it by getting a hotmail account. It would still go through Dynasty, but maybe they would be fooled. What do you folks think? Would this work? laurie Reply-To: Date: Sun, 26 Jan 2003 01:17:17 -0800 To: < > Subject: Re: need email help Laurie, I did contact Dynasty, they're the one's who told me about the spam. They said this anti spam thing is trying to stop the yahoo groups because it is 'a group mailing " , Mom to need email help Yahoo has turned off my groups again due to bounced messages.I call my provider and was told it's an anti spam thing. When I checked the bounces I had this message. Guest guest
Hi, The problem is not with Yahoo, . Certain ISP's have ground rules and they determine that a certain e mail address is sending too much " spam " so they refuse to allow the mail from that address to filter thru to say your mailbox. The list moderators have an option to send out a message to all the members who are bouncing which you should receive explaining a need for you to reinstate. In the meantime, it seems that these ISP's come to agreement with Yahoo and allow the flow of mail again so... as you did here..your mail comes thru and you should be receiving. It seems that dynasty.net is going back and forth with yahoo about spam and I actually think it's to their member's advantage as there is too much spam on Yahoo. I've wanted to change our list client many times and I'm still not opposed to it but in the past, the group did not want to make a change. One thing is sure, yahoogroups definitely offers more to it's users but it is not as friendly as it could be and can create problems like this one. To be honest with you, I am not sure I would be able to find another client that would provide what yahoogroups has to offer but most likely would be able to find one that does not have the problem with " spam. " This is how Yahoo affords to keep these free lists going. I'm sorry you've had to deal with it and promise to check the bouncing members daily to make sure you have the option to get back on. Guest guest
This would work as would getting a yahoo account but she would need to remember to read her mail at hotmail or yahoo. Guest guest
Hi all Someone on another list said that it was just easier to go to Yahoogroups and read the messages from the site. I don't think getting an account with Hotmail would help because I hear that they have a bigger spam problem than Yahoo and get blocked even more often! Someone on another list just changed that list to Tripod. Apparently it is another free group/list site. I will try to find the contact information for them and post it - or if I forget - Alice or anyone - please remind me. I'm not doing very well and only getting worse.....sigh.... Guest guest
, Just another thought. My ISP has an anti-spam program with settings that I control. I can manually tell them to send me certain emails from certain addresses even though they identify it as spam. Perhaps yours has something similar.
