Guest guest
I thought this might be interesting, as 'excercise' is so often prescribed. Nothing would induce me to take up golf, but if we all liked the same thing there'd be a dreadful shortage of haggis! http://www.charlotte.com/mld/charlotte/news/weird_news/4282909.htm
Guest guest
No, I'm not nervous about my ability to physically play. It just--please forgive me for saying---seems like the most boring, frustrating, and pointless game ever invented. Re: Golf
Guest guest
I agree...I never understood peoples' fascination with hitting a ball with a stick into a hole. Yeah, so there's nice scenery...if you like manicured, smile. I prefer a hike in the nearby Columbia Gorge myself. Or even a walk in the neighborhood. OTOH, I'm not a games person (except for Scrabble). Guest guest
No offense taken at all... but seriously, you should give it a try. It's a lot of fun, it's a GREAT way to not only exercise but get out in the fresh air and sun, and it's a fun way to socialize with your friends. At least the way I play it! I thought it looked boring too until I tried it, in my 30s. You should never write off something as boring, pointless, or frustrating unless you've given it a try! heck... I thought low-carbing was pretty boring too until I tried it (note the seque back to topic!). > No, I'm not nervous about my ability to physically play. I used to play golf with my father years ago, but haven't played in years. My big problem with it is that it takes so much time! You really have to devote an entire day to it. Maybe in 10 years ago, when I retire... Christy
Guest guest
Who, me...denegrating? I just happen to think there are more interesting to do than making a ball go into a hole with a stick <g>... Seriously...I didn't mean to offend. I have lots of friends who love golf. It's just not my thing. And wouldn't the world be a boring place if we all liked the same thing?? Guest guest
I have heard it said that some die-hard golf aficionados here in Minnesota paint their golf balls florescent orange so that they can see them in the snow. I wonder if there is any truth to the tale. Of course, this is the same State that has Bunyan and the Big Blue Ox, so, who knows? ) Grandaddy Rick
